1. Features of Phosphor Bronze Doctor Blade

The copper doctor blade for paper machines features moderate hardness and excellent toughness. It gently removes scale and sticky deposits on dryer cylinders without scratching cast iron dryer cylinders and roller surfaces. It combines good thermal conductivity and corrosion resistance.

Unlike stainless steel blades that easily damage cylinders and non-metallic blades with insufficient cleaning performance, this blade adapts to high-temperature and humid working conditions and ensures stable crepe peeling. It guarantees paper forming quality and extends equipment service life, and cannot be fully replaced by any other material in key working positions.

2. Applicable Rollers for Copper Doctor Blades

1) Steel Rollers (carbon steel roller, stainless steel roller, hard chrome-plated steel roller)

Including: press steel roller, calender steel roller, dryer cylinder, reel cylinder, metal drive roller, stainless steel anilox roller

Applicability Reason:

The hardness of copper (HB180~230) is lower than that of steel and chrome layers. It removes adhesives, pulp deposits and scale without damaging the roller plating and steel substrate. With high toughness, it closely fits the roller surface for thorough cleaning. Bronze doctor blades feature acid and alkali resistance, suitable for wet sections and high-temperature dryer environments.

2) Cast Iron Rollers (chilled cast iron, alloy cast iron stone roller)

General cast iron rollers for paper machine press and bottom rollers

Applicability Reason:

With optimal hardness matching, the soft copper blade edge will not damage the wear-resistant surface of cast iron rollers or cause scratches and pitting. It is ideal for removing pulp scale and resin accumulation on roller surfaces.

3) Copper / Copper Alloy Rollers (copper roller, bronze roller, copper-coated roller)

Applicability Reason:

Homogeneous metals have the best friction compatibility. There is no hard-point mutual damage or severe seizing and scratching, with only slight self-wear, making it perfect for cleaning precision copper rollers.
